Published on 11 November 2024 The kickboxers of the National Sports Academy "Vasil Levski" won a total of eight medals – three gold, two silver, and three bronze – in individual events at the European Championship in Athens. The championship featured over 300 competitors from 30 countries. Katrin Gemkova, a 4th-year NSA student, triumphed with two titles in the 79 kg category in light-contact and kick-light styles. Another gold in the women's 50 kg kick-light contact category was claimed by Kristina Nikolova, also a 4th-year student. Second-year student Anelia Todorova won silver in the 55 kg category in kick-light. Petyo Futlev, a 2nd-year student in the 74 kg category, earned two medals – silver in kick-light and bronze in light-contact. Bronze medals went to Lachezar Ivanov, a graduate, in the 69 kg category in light-contact, and to Kalina Koleva, a 4th-year student, in point-fighting style. In the women's team event, Kristina Nikolova and Kalina Koleva, along with Alexandra Georgieva and Hristina Andonova, placed third. The Bulgarian team concluded its participation in the European Championship with a total of 24 medals, including 8 gold, 10 silver, and 6 bronze. |
