Bulgarian Successes in the European Kickboxing Championship in Athens Presented at NSA

The remarkable Bulgarian performance at the recently concluded European Kickboxing Championship in Athens was showcased in the Assembly Hall of the National Sports Academy "Vasil Levski." In the presence of Rector Prof. Krasimir Petkov and members of the academic leadership, the national team’s trophies from the continental championship, featuring 1,133 competitors from 41 countries, were presented.

Bulgarian kickboxers claimed 8 gold, 10 silver, and 8 bronze medals. Among these, NSA students earned 3 gold, 2 silver, and 3 bronze medals. These accolades were achieved by Kartin Gemkova (2 titles), Kristina Nikolova (1 title), Petyo Futlev (two second places), Aneliya Todorova (second place), Lychezar Ivanov, and Kalina Koleva (one third place each). Nikolova and Koleva also contributed to the women’s team bronze. All NSA medalists compete for the Sofia-based club "Star Team," whose athletes secured the majority of Bulgaria’s medals in Athens (7 gold, 5 silver, and 4 bronze).

Denitsa Milenkova and Ivan Georgiev from "Star Team" shared stories of the national team’s achievements at the European Championship. Rector Prof. Petkov received on behalf of NSA a set of medals from the championship and a collage featuring photos of the most significant victories in the Greek capital.
