NSA Student Wins Two Medals at International Para-Badminton Tournaments
Published on 17 March 2025 Emona Ivanova – a student in the master’s program "Adapted Physical Activity and Sport" at NSA, won two bronze medals at high-level international para-badminton tournaments. The competitions were held in Spain between March 4–16 and were of the highest rank, featuring 250 athletes from 48 countries. Emona placed third in the women's doubles discipline at both events. In the first tournament, Ivanova partnered with Portugal’s Beatriz Monteiro, and in the second—with her regular partner Rosa De Marco from Italy. Emona and Rosa have been playing as a duo since 2023 and have placed fifth twice at the European Championships in 2023 and 2024. In the individual competition in Spain, the NSA student finished ninth after losing 1:2 to Ukraine’s Oksana Kozyna, who placed fourth at the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games. In 2025, Emona Ivanova, together with her personal coach, Senior Assistant Rumyana Ivanova, is set to defend her bronze medal in the women’s singles at the European Para-Badminton Championship.
