The President of European Athletics, Dobromir Karamarinov, visited the NSA

The President of European Athletics, Mr. Dobromir Karamarinov, was on a working visit to the National Sports Academy "Vasil Levski."

During the meeting with NSA Rector Prof. Krasimir Petkov, ideas for collaboration between the Academy and European Athletics were discussed. Also participating in the discussions were the NSA Vice Rectors Assoc. Prof. Hristo Andonov, Prof. Ognyan Miladinov, and Prof. Daniela Lyubenova, as well as Assistant Rector Prof. Nikolai Izov and the Head of the Department of Athletics, Assoc. Prof. Grigor Gutev.

The guest visited the Educational and Olympic Center, where among the most valuable exhibits related to "the queen of sports" is the Olympic medal of Chief Assistant Tereza Marinova, a lecturer in the Department of Athletics at the NSA. The visit concluded with a tour of the Academy's indoor athletics track, which was officially opened recently after complete renovation. Mr. Karamarinov expressed admiration for the modernization of the facilities and the excellent conditions for educational and training activities provided for students and athletes at the NSA.

Dobromir Karamarinov has been a long-time president of the Bulgarian Athletics Federation (BAF) (2004-2023) and Balkan Athletics (2010-2021). In 2021, he was elected president of European Athletics and was re-elected to the same position last year.
