NSA and "Sport in Bulgaria" Foundation Plan Joint Activities
Published on 15 January 2025 The National Sports Academy "Vasil Levski" and the "Sport in Bulgaria" Foundation will join forces to develop Bulgarian sports and promote it through joint activities. This was announced by NSA Rector Prof. Krasimir Petkov and Rossi McKee, co-founder of the "Sport in Bulgaria" Foundation, during the signing of a cooperation agreement in the presence of the academic leadership and representatives of the foundation, including Executive Director Vyara Velikova. Driven by the shared goal of promoting and supporting the potential of sports for personal and social growth, the parties to the agreement will work to encourage scientific research in sports and public health, develop professional sports, and increase the inclusion of people of different ages and health statuses in physical activity and sports. "The goals of the foundation largely align with what NSA is doing," emphasized Prof. Krasimir Petkov. "The dynamically changing environment constantly challenges us to attract young people to engage in sports and sports science and to continue their education at the Academy. The successes and stability we achieve stem from the collective spirit we have at NSA. Every cog in the mechanism is in its place and doing its job. Sports are a tool to bring young people back to a meaningful way of life and to address modern challenges," highlighted the NSA Rector. Rossi McKee also expressed satisfaction with the wide range of opportunities for joint initiatives. "The partnership with NSA will be incredibly valuable. Together, we will work to ensure that young athletes receive the support, guidance, and infrastructure they need to continue creating and being recognized. Most importantly, we will help instill values like discipline, teamwork, and perseverance – qualities that transcend sports and define great leaders and citizens. I am impressed by the collaboration and continuity at NSA, how you build on your achievements, and how you form teams with a unified vision," shared Rossi McKee. The agreement includes plans to organize joint sports events, educational initiatives, training seminars, applied scientific research, and participation in national and international program projects. |
