Minister Ivan Peshev Visited NSA
Published on 27 January 2025 ![]() The Minister of Youth and Sports, Ivan Peshev, visited the National Sports Academy for a meeting with the academic leadership and the Rector, Prof. Krasimir Petkov. The discussions, which also included Deputy Ministers Assoc. Prof. Stoyan Andonov and Petar Mladenov, covered key aspects of the policies of both institutions aimed at the development of physical education, sports, and youth activities. Important issues related to the regulatory framework concerning the training of professional personnel for various levels of the educational system were discussed. The exceptional importance of the connection between education, sports, youth activities, and science was emphasized. There was an agreement on the need for coordinated actions and alignment at the expert level, as well as readiness for cooperation in the spirit of the well-established traditions of partnership between NSA and the Ministry of Sports. Minister Peshev received detailed information about the Academy's priorities as an educational institution with exceptional authority on both national and international levels. The ministry's leadership team was introduced to NSA's planned activities for constructing new infrastructure facilities on the university campus, as well as the renovation of existing facilities. Details were also presented about the prestigious upcoming international scientific congresses at NSA (in 2025 and 2027), featuring participation from globally recognized leading scientists and experts. The Minister of Youth and Sports expressed his gratitude to the Academy for its support and active collaboration, as well as his admiration for the achievements of Bulgaria's only higher education institution specialized in sports.
