Fencing Champion Yoana Ilieva: "Only the strong succeed at NSA!"
Published on 12 February 2025  After winning the World Cup title in fencing, Bulgaria’s top sabre fencer – Yoana Ilieva – has returned to her studies in the "High-Performance Sports" master's program at the National Sports Academy. Yoana, who achieved a historic success by becoming the first Bulgarian woman to reach the top in a competition of this level, has once again been chosen as the face of the NSA "Vasil Levski" admission campaign. "I chose to study at the National Sports Academy because here I have the opportunity to grow. This is extremely valuable," said Yoana Ilieva. "There are many challenges at NSA, and it’s truly not for everyone. Besides handling the demands of being an athlete, you also have to cope with the academic workload, which is not easy at all. The courses are rigorous and provide essential knowledge," commented the Bulgarian fencing star, emotionally summing up: "Only the strong succeed at NSA!" |
