Education and career

Master's degree in Public Health and Healthcare Management - 2006. Full-time PhD student at the Department of Health Policy and Management, Faculty of Public Health (FPH), Medical University - Sofia since January 2007, and assistant professor since July 2007. Defended a dissertation on "The Marketing Approach in the Process of Providing Quality Hospital Services". Master's degree in “Business Administration with specialization in Healthcare Management”, University of National and World Economy (UNWE) - since 2010. Acquired a specialty in "Medical Pedagogy", Medical University - Sofia, FPH - 2011. In October 2013 acquired the scientific title of Associate Professor. Second specialty in "Healthcare Economics," Medical University – Sofia, FPH – 2017. 2007-2009 - Assistant Professor and Senior Assistant Professor at the Department of Health Policy and Management, FPH, Medical University - Sofia. 2009-2016 - Senior Assistant Professor and Associate Professor at the Department of Medical Pedagogy, FPH, Medical University - Sofia. 2016-2019 - Associate Professor at the Department of Health Technology Assessment, FPH, Medical University - Sofia. Since July 2019 - Associate Professor at the Department of Health Care FPH, Medical University - Sofia. Since July 2023 - Associate Professor at the National Sports Academy "Vasil Levski".

Pedagogical activity

Teaches undergraduate students in the following disciplines: Philosophy and Introduction to Nursing; Nursing in Somatic Diseases; Nursing in Pediatrics; Nursing in Surgical Diseases; History of Healthcare and Nursing; Health Care Management, etc.

Research interests

In the field of health policy and management, hospital marketing and quality of hospital care, drug policy and drug information, drug safety and adverse drug reaction reporting, violence prevention and pedagogical approaches to address it, training and education, trauma.

Publications, Textbooks, Guides

Author of over 100 publications, with more than 80 citations, participation in authorship of 3 textbooks and a monograph. Participant in research teams for the development of three large international and six national scientific and educational projects. Participation in short-term courses and trainings abroad (the Netherlands, Austria, Germany, Greece, UK, Portugal, Spain, USA, New Zealand, etc.). Member of the Editorial Board of the Journal of Health Management and Journal of Health Policy and Management, 2007-2013. Member of the National Association for Health Policy and Management (NAHPM) - since 2008. Founder and Board member of the Bulgarian Association for Drug Information (BADI) - from 2010 to 2019. Member of the Union of Scientists in Bulgaria - since 2015. Member of The European Public Health Association.
